Katerina Kokkinos-Kennedy - Theatre Director, Writer and Actor Trainer, Melbourne

Dear Arts Council UK staff,

I am writing to express my deep concern about the planned funding cuts to the CPR Centre for Performance Research in Wales.

Over many years the CPR has created, curated and maintained a series of unique projects that have leant support to the practice, research and discourse associated with cutting-edge contemporary performance culture. And to my knowledge there is nothing quite like them anywhere. So this is indeed a serious moment for the AC and the CPR.

The CPR represents something vital and its internationally acknowledged position has attracted some of the world's most innovative
performance artists.

I believe that the breadth and significance of their contribution to live art alone makes them a life-blood arts organisation without which the performing arts in the UK (and internationally) will be very much the poorer.

Yours sincerely,

Katerina Kokkinos-Kennedy
