Prof. Alastair MacLennan - University of Ulster

Dear Judy and Richard,

I and others in the performance art field, teaching in higher
education, are utterly dismayed at the Arts Council of Wales'
intended funding cut to CPR.

There are no other contemporary art organizations in the UK
championing, so consistently, the specific areas of visual and
theoretical research covered by CPR. Performance Research magazine is
the only one of its kind in Britain, pioneering probing research
across divergent artistic, philosophical, political, social and
cultural disciplines, in an otherwise culturally arid and
intellectually enfeebled climate, currently prevalent in the UK.

One trusts the Arts Council of Wales will again recognize the
invaluable contribution of CPR to the nation.

Yours sincerely,

Alastair MacLennan
Professor of Fine Art
University of Ulster
Belfast
