Dr Sara Brady - Trinity College, Dublin

I am writing in response to your email of 13 Feb 2008 explaining that the Arts Council of Wales has given CPR notice of discontinuing ongoing funding as of July 2008. I hope you can pass on my note to the Arts Council of Wales.

In 1995 and 1996, I interned for CPR on various projects, including Past Masters: Meyerhold; Giving Voice; and Points of Contact: Tourism. During this time, not only did I become familiar with the tireless dedication of both of you as well as Joan Mills on Giving Voice and the rest of your staff, but I was lucky enough to be exposed to the type of progressive approach to performance that CPR is known for. The Centre for Performance Research has cultivated a unique blend of practice and theory. Few arts organizations have such an intellectual (not to mention tasteful!) approach to the gathering of performers and spectators, scholars and students, artists and critics, writers and readers.

I urge the Arts Council of Wales to reconsider the implications of removing ongoing support of CPR and reverse its initial decision.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or require further information.

Sincerely,

Sara
