David Bradby - Professor of Drama and Theatre Studies and Dean of Arts at Royal Holloway, University of London

Dear Friends at CPR,
I was dismayed to hear that you are facing more of these philistine cuts. As a past director of the Orange Tree theatre, I was just rejoicing that the insanity of the proposed cut had been understood (there will be no cut to the Orange Tree, after all) and then I hear your news. It is indeed depressing to have to write in support of the major centre for performance research in the British Isles – one would think that its record and its excellence would need no defence. However, if it is indeed true that you are threatened, please do add my name to any letter of protest you are sending to relevant funding authorities.

Yours, David

David Bradby, Professor of Drama and Theatre Studies and Dean of Arts at Royal Holloway, University of London.
Awarded the Chevalier des Arts et Lettres de la République Française.
General Editor of the series Cambridge Studies in Modern Theatre.
