Joseph Jordania - Research Associate of the Faculty of Music, The University of Melbourne

Dear Dai Smith, David Alston, Peter Tyndall, Jane Clarke, Amanda Loosemore,

I am writing to you regarding the intended funding cuts for the Centre for Performance Research. As I undersand, any of such desicions are based on evaluation of the funding of the organisation and the feedback from this funding, and it is difficult for me to understand the reasons of such fund-cutting for the CPR.

CPR has been such a great international success for many years already, and for sure, it has many other great goals to achieve in years to come. It was my pleasure to hear very favourable referencs of the activities taking place in Wales, at CPR, during many scholarly meetings and festivals in different world performance centres, including Paris, New York, Rio de Janeiro, Sydney, Melbourne, Moscow etc.

As participants of three of CRP projects I can say that every Festival of Voices I attended was a truly eye-opener in many ways, I learned a lot about the different approaches to human voice production, and I am still in concats with the colleagues and friends I met in Wales.

As a scholar and a performer, I want to let you know that you have my full support if you decide to give a second though re the intended fund cuts to the CPR. I am sure CPR organisation will continue to be as it is now - one of the international strongholds of the performance studies. We need them, we need them to be strong.

I am sure everyone who had contact with CPR will be fully supporting them and the great goal they serve.

With my very best and cordial wishes,
Joseph
