Nelson Fernandez -Director, Cultural Operations, Visiting Arts

Dear Judie and Richard

I am dismayed at the news that CPR is threatened by a withdrawal of revenue funding from Arts Council of Wales.

I believe that CPR is a model of practice and the arts in Wales and indeed, in the UK as a whole, would be much the poorer if you were to disappear. In a world where the importance of international engagement is emphasised on an almost daily basis, your contribution to international and intercultural understanding is invaluable. Through the years, we have collaborated on a number of international projects and I have never felt anything but inspired and grateful for your enlightened involvement.

Your work has developed and empowered creative artists from Wales and from many parts of the world. This should be a source of pride for Wales; yours is a world-class institution and I do not say that lightly.

It is my hope that this decision will be re-considered. Please let me know if there is any way in which we can be of assistance.

With warm regards to you both

Nelson
