Prof. Gabriella - Exeter University

Dear Richard

I was shocked to learn from your email about the decision to stop funding to CPR. This for me is the equivalent of stopping funding to the Royal National Theatre or The Tate Modern. I have known of CPR since its inception and one of the reasons the UK was attractive to me as a country in which to study for a PhD and then work in the field of Performance Studies is its investment in organisations such as CPR.

I herewith very much hope to signal that CPR is a major international catalyst of work in performance practice, crucial for the healthy development of the creative industries in Wales and beyond. This is an organisation we should study and use as an example of good practice – not one we should stop funding.

I very much hope this decision can be reversed so that the inspirational work of CPR can continue.

best wishes
